Onsite medical services available through St. Luke’s Health System

At Veranda, we believe that there is sometimes a gap in health care services for seniors. We wanted to design a system that could better seamlessly bring medical care to our seniors, while also bringing true preventative healthcare across the continuum of care. That is why we created Veranda Senior Living, the first truly seamless healthcare approach from Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Simply put, this approach will help our seniors stay healthy, better informed and more independent.

Although you will have full access to onsite medical services provided by St. Luke’s this is by no means necessary. If you have an existing relationship with a physician or other care provider then you are more than welcome to continue your care with that professional. However, you can have peace of mind knowing that a care provider is onsite for your medical needs.

Jessica Bruce, NP - Bio

Veranda Senior Living is pleased to welcome to the Clinical services team a partnership with St. Luke’s Nurse Practitioner Jessica Bruce.

Jessica Bruce, NP is an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and practices both at St. Luke’s Internal Medicine Jefferson Clinic as well as community Senior Housing locations. Jessica earned her undergraduate degree in gerontology from Central Washington University and both her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing from University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to work with adult-geriatric patients at SLIM Jefferson Clinic, Jessica gained more than 10 years of experience working with older adults and their families in Alaska, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania.

Jessica’s passion for working with older adults began at the age of 11 when she started volunteering weekly at the local assisted living facility in Juneau, Alaska. Since that time her educaton and passion for working with older adults has only grown and she is thrilled to be extending her practice to allow individuals to receive care in their own homes rather than traveling as frequently to outside clinics. It is Jessica’s belief that, in the words of Sen. John Hoeven, “Caring for our seniors is perhaps the greatest responsibility we have. Those who walked before us have given so much and made possible the life we all enjoy.”
